Yesoul Hydraulic Rowing Machine

I was initially hesitant about purchasing a hydraulic rowing machine, but I'm so glad I did. The quality of this machine far exceeded my expectations, especially considering its price. It's sturdy, reliable, and the resistance levels allow for a wide range of workouts. I've already seen improvements in my strength and endurance, and it's a steal for the value it offers.

This hydraulic rowing machine is a game-changer. Not only does it provide an excellent cardio workout, but it's also incredibly quiet. I can use it early in the morning or late at night without disturbing anyone in the house. The smooth rowing action is easy on the joints.

Put this together myself (over 65 female) and set it up with anti-skid pads under it to protect my floors and keep noise down for the downstairs neighbor, no complaints so far about noise. You MUST wear a full athletic show as there are velcro straps to secure your feet in the hard plastic foot plates. It has a good range of motion and I can see improvements in my posture since beginning to use it. Gives a good core workout as well as arms and legs. My only critique is the tension settings, I do not seem to get a harder or easier stroke when adjusting it, I'm sure there is a way but my brain says that you dial it to a line and the tension should adjust... It doesn't but the setting it has selected is one I can work with. It will be nice in the winter when snow and ice reduces my time outside walking, as of now it is added to the walking regimen and I've gone down 2 sizes in 3 months with a lower carb diet.

I had never tried rowing before and didn’t want to buy an expensive rowing machine without knowing if I’d like it, so I purchased this one. It turns out I absolutely LOVE this rowing machine. As an elderly lady ( over 60) this was the perfect choice to stay in shape with a low impact workout. I just put it together, which was quite easy, and plopped it in front of my TV. After watching some videos about proper rowing technique, and finding lots of scenery videos on YouTube, I was off, rowing on a lake In Austria, listening to my favorite classic rock songs! I really love that it’s SO quiet I can also row and watch my favorite shows without jacking up the volume. I can feel myself getting stronger already and it’s only been a couple weeks. The only addition I made was using a padded seat cushion as it enabled me to row more comfortably. It’s also amazingly light, compact, and has an adjustable resistance feature and a nice Electronic counter. If your thinking of getting into rowing at home, I would definitely recommend you start with this model !

Perfect Rower. Bought it for my son to develop his Upper Extremity/Core for Baseball. He uses it 5 days a week and it has held up thus far. Folds Away Nicely, Sits Upright Against the Wall for Storage, Doesn't take up a lot of Space, Easily Assembled.

I love my row machine! This came recommended to me by a family member. At first, I was worried it wouldn't be high tech enough but it turned out to be exactly what I needed - no gimmicks. It comes with a few tracking methods but I primarily use the counter. The tension has enough range that I'll be able to use this machine long term. After just a few days of use I started noticing results (stronger core, better toning in my arms and legs). After two weeks of daily use (100 rows per day) I've lost visible weight around my core. Very happy about that! The only potential downside that I'd share is for anyone who is new to rowing or who is really out of shape (like I was). When I started, I had zero core strength, so I was using the wrong form and ended up putting most of the resistance on my lower back. Definitely don't do that. Once I realized what I was doing, I corrected and the problem was solved. So, fellow newbies, make sure to engage your legs and core, not your back! Happy rowing :)

Easy to assemble.

It really works out the whole body. But it doesn’t float very well. I kept rowing, but it sank anyway. It’s at the bottom of a pond.

Works well! As someone who is 6 foot I can still use it but if it was slightly larger it would be more comfortable.

I like the fact that it is easy to move around and you can get a workout indoors when the heat is prohibitive.

Workouts are great you definitely feel the burn

I’ve had this rower for years and it has held up well! The earlier reviews about the footplates not keeping your foot in we’re true for me. In fact, I used it off and on for years because I’d get frustrated with my heels constantly slipping out. I finally learned that change my tennis shoe from an athletic shoe with a taller heel, to something with a lower heel (I.e. Keds slide-on tennis shoe) fixed the problem. No more slipping! I have used the rowing machine consistently for 20 minutes a day and can feel it engaging many muscle groups (including my abs) and improving my Yesoul. The machine is light enough to move around the room for storage, although to tall to fit under the bed. It’s quiet. The display that tracks time, reps, calories, etc. is still working after 5 years. This machine works large muscle groups while being easy on my joints. It’s also easy to adjust the tension. This has been a wise purchase for me! One note: I purchased this type after reading that the two handles/bars give more of a true rowing sensation and that they work more arm muscles. I completely agree with that and feel I get more out of this home rower than opens I’ve tried at the gym.

This device mimics the motion of rowing a boat. I usually row for about 40 minutes at a time. and I have noticed improved fitness and definition in my shoulders and back. Fully adjustable tension to adjust to your fitness level. This was easy to put together. The only flaw is that the counter is not very accurate, but I use my Iwatch rower fitness app anyway.

so far she’s good . easy to assemble. easy to use pretty good work out . starting slow and working my way up . trying to rebuild my strength from two separate shoulder surgeries. i would recommend this . not sure how good it will hold up, but we shall see.

Awesome piece of Equipment

It’s fun, easy to use, and well made. I wasn’t sure that I would like this kind of rowing as much as the kind with the pulley, but it’s more fun.

Got a used version of earlier model so trashed I couldn’t use and sent back, so spent a bit more and very happy it turned out for best. As others say it works great, feels more like actual rowing in water than the high end gym machines. Got the feel for the “oars” within first session. So compact it is easy to stow and pull out. I’m in a small space so that’s important. Plenty of resistance for any average person. Heat factor negligible as no need to put hand on pump! “Computer” is fine; without doing anything it cycles through 3 modes, time, stroke count and calories. All u really need is time, and you can just start with eg 5 min, then keep building up. If you want more resistance, you pull oars closer together in center and pull faster. If not enough, next time up the number on the pump tube below seat. Have rowed w/ shoes and barefoot, both work easily. One tip is, as with boat, relax when stroking, as tension will make it harder and cause more pain.

This little rower works exactly as I was expecting it to, after performing endless research. I purposefully bought this smaller footprint rower due to space shortage. Unlike other rowers of this type, you get full shoulder rotation laterally, just like actual rowing, rather than just pulling straight back and up as with other rowers. For my shoulders, this is a distinction with a meaningful difference. It does have adjustable difficulty levels, and you will be able to get a great rowing workout just fine with this. This is NOT loud-- it is *much* more quiet than any 'fan' or air type erg or rower. I use it either on the carpet (it holds still enough to do this) or on wood floor on a workout mat, the mat primarily so I don't scratch the floors or 'walk' the rower down the floor, and not for noise abatement. Is the computer simple and kind of dumb? Of course it is. This is not an erg, this is not a $2000 Concept II. If you need super complex splits and data and are training for the Olympics, then this is probably not for you. If you are an average smart human who doesn't want to blow a ton of money on a home rower, but wants a reliable piece of equipment that is straightforward, easy to use, and will give you a great workout: then this is for you. NOTE: We keep ours standing up against the wall when not in use. It is simple enough to roll it out, unfurl the arms, and get cracking. Like 15 seconds. We now have this piece, an upright rower/squat machine, indoor bike, treadmill, weights, flat bench, bands, kettle bells, and lord knows what all crammed into our small TH, all of which cost less than one erg or one Peloton bike. Would buy this again.

For all its simplicity, I really love this rower. Excellent value for the money and definitely gives you a workout.

I thought that it would be more complicated to put together, but the majority of it was already assembled in the box. I basically just had to screw the feet on and the seat. I love how little space it takes up and how compact it folds up for storage. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because I thought it would give me more of a lower body workout as well, but the hydraulic resistance only works on the upper body part and not on the seat, so it doesn't really give me much of lower body workout as I expected.. but to be fair, it is called a "rower", so it's not like it's meant to be misleading . I definitely feel it on my arms, back, and even my neck area with just 10 minutes on the lowest resistance. So I'm very happy with it. I'm not really into working out so I knew I had to buy some thing that was convenient and practical for a 10 minute workout. I have also noticed that the newer model has a different shaped seat to prevent you from sliding around.. And my butt does slide forward a little bit, which is a little annoying, but not a big deal.

This rower is so easy to use and quiet enough to get a full body workout without waking anyone sleeping in the next room

This machine is a great alternative to rowing a boat/scull. It's quiet, folds up easily, isn't heavy, and is fun. RTFM before using it. Settings 1 and 2 are easy so just starting out won't be discouraging. I'm a professional gardener so 1 and 2 are very easy for me, but they still feel like a workout because rowing engages different muscle groups from the ones I use daily. I'm fairly young-ish (early 40s), but have a degenerative autoimmune disease that affects my tendons, and arthritic knees. This rower does not bother my knees, elbows, biceps. It's actually much more comfortable than the exercises I do in physical therapy. I like to carry the rower into my living room and turn on a show to watch while rowing. The computer keeps tracks of time and strokes and calories. If you feel like rowing isn't engaging your muscles or if it hurts your joints you're doing it wrong,triple check your form. This machine comes with an exercise app, but I haven't tried it yet. Don't over tighten the bolts or rest it on the computer ( I lean mine against a bedroom wall to store) and you should be fine. My only complaint so far is that the seat is really hard so wear padded bottoms or sit on a pillow. The timer will pause if you pause. I have to stop periodically to give my bum a break because of the hard seat.

Very pleased with this purchase! It's a bit to put together. Not sure I would want to do it alone, but it works great and feels more expensive than it is. It's easy to change the tension and the display works great. It is heavy to move around. The pedals and the display make it a little tricky while moving it, but we put small furniture sliders on the end "legs" it stands on and that's helped tremendously. Before I purchased, I did a lot of research and chose this one based on reviews and price. Also chose it because of the "oars" as opposed to the pulley type. I liked the idea of the range of motion the oars would give my arms and back. I've been using it regularly for about a month and it has not disappointed. It feels great and works my arms and back just as I hoped! I had read someone's review that suggested watching videos on the proper form. I followed their advice and glad I did so I second that suggestion! If it helps anyone to know, I'm 57, 5'2.5" with a 28" inseam.

Before shoulder problem seems to be less bothersome since using the machine. Mechanic of motion is easy and causes no discomfort for my back or knees.

OK, Con's first: -Velcro foot straps feel cheap, a bit of a hassle to properly adjust -Placing tablet in tablet holder blocks display -Instructions a bit confusing owing to foreign syntax -Arms don't fold up for compact storage as easily I had hoped None of these are a huge deal, especially given the price point. The Pro's: -Affordable -Sturdy -Compact -Nice LARGE display with useful information -Easy to assemble - all tools provided -Easy to operate -Easy to store I am 5'6", 150 lbs. It's possible that this unit might not be ideal for a much larger person, but it is perfect for me.

The sturdiness ,the range of motion, the easiness of changing the pressure to adjust the machine.

I'm always looking to incorporate new equipment into my workouts to help maintain my muscle tone. This definitely does the job on my arms and gets my heart going which is always a plus.

I have only used this rowing machine twice so far and I love it. Ive always loved rowing and it has worked for me in the past. It was pretty easy to put together, you just have to get organized with the parts and follow the directions. It was everything i was hoping it would be, compact and easy to store in a closet, perfect!

This is a great machine and no hard impact use. You can lose weight after some time. I dropped 20 pounds using it. It helps you tone up some and very easy on your body.

I have been using this for a couple of weeks and am benefiting from the results already. I have been going to the chiropractor once a week for years and after only a week of rowing on this machine I strengthened my core enough to be able to switch to once every two weeks. Considering the fact that my insurance only pays for 24 visits a year. That alone made this rower pay for itself

This is a great rower for beginners. Economical and great to see if it’s your exercise. Easy to use. Easy to store. Easily assembled

The way the arms are designed is great for the arms and easy on the wrists. Stands up for easy storage when not in use.

Bought this to have some low impact cardio in my apartment. I love rowing, but felt the standard machines would be too noisy for an apartment setup. Found this and seemed like a solid choice from the reviews. The hydraulic function is fairly quiet (not silent), and the range of motion works well for me. I'm 5'11" and think this may not have as much range for someone much taller. It was pretty easy to assemble (took about 45 minutes), and feels sturdy overall. Have been using it almost daily since I bought it. I think it's important to note that unless you are tiny, you probably aren't going to get the same caliber of workout on this machine that you'd get from a commercial one. It's just not quite sturdy enough for that. The foot pads feel a little too flimsy and will move, the seat is also a little too flimsy for anything high-impact. But for the price just to have some movement at home, it's great and as expected.

THIS WAS A GIFT NOT FOR MY PERSONAL USE

I had a treadmill and an elliptical. Nothing beats this rowing machine. I get the best overall workout. You get cardio and best of all it strengthens my back. No more back aches!

I really like this product. It's pretty basic. With two people setting it up, one on each side, it made set up much easier. We just used the pictures. Someone had mentioned that it could leave a mark on your carpet, and it can! I am very glad I put a towel underneath the whole length of the shock because it has dripped a small amount. I don't think this would be great for somebody who's 6 ft or 200 lb, but it's definitely perfect for a smaller size than that. It's pretty quiet and I can watch TV while I use it.

I bought this comparatively low-cost machine to use at home because all rowing machines at my gym are the flywheel type with a single pulling T-bar, which at a much higher price provide neither the feeling nor the distribution of muscle load of two-oared sculling. SPECS [1] The BodyTrac 35-1050 includes a meter providing a number of functions displayed in its "scan" mode; calorie consumption is described as "an estimate for an average user" but since no description is given of what is an average user, these calorie values should be taken with considerable distrust. The rowing machine, made by Yesoul Products, Inc. (a three-decade old company based in Springfield, MO), is built for users weighing less than 250 lbs. [2] The owner's manual has clear, step-by-step assembly instructions, and the machine is easy to assemble. It folds quickly to be stored standing on one end; once folded, however, it does not offer comfortable grip points to lift and move it around. At 35 lbs, it may be a bit too heavy for some people, so adding wheels on the front stabilizer --which would allow the folded machine to roll when tilted-- would be a good design improvement. Also, the seat would be less uncomfortable with a redesign conformal with the shape of modern scull seats. I wear tennis or jogging shoes when rowing and, unlike some other reviewers, I have no issues of foot-strap slippage (I am 6-ft tall and have a shoe size 9.0 to 9.5). [3] As expected from a machine whose resistance is provided by a hydraulic shock absorber, the BodyTrac is a bit noisy, and there is some squeaking from various parts until they are warmed up by friction. Nevertheless, this does not interfere with listening to music or to a television while rowing. The fluid of hydraulic absorbers heats up a lot with use; do not grab the absorber (located under the rear of the sliding beam) when folding the machine after a session, as the cylinder may be very hot. STROKE MECHANICS [4] Rowing provides a non-weight-bearing exercise for ALL major muscle groups. In this respect, a distinct advantage of the articulated arms of this machine is that --after an initial phase focused on legs and hips to create the power during the stroke, just as in a power clean lift-- you can emphasize the exercise load during the remainder of this propelling part ['the drive' in sculling] either on the chest/shoulders or on the mid-back, depending on the manner for completing this part of the stroke. One manner is to open the arms when sliding towards the front, and then lower the hands while pulling back with the handles close to one another (they cannot be perfectly aligned since there is not enough separation between them). This focuses the main pulling effort more on the pectorals and shoulders than the back. The other manner is the reverse sequence by sliding forward (i.e., towards the scull's rear [the stern]) while keeping both handles low and close together --a motion equivalent to 'the recovery' in sculling when the oar blades are brought above water towards the scull's front [the bow]-- and then lifting the hands while pulling back with the handles up and apart. This focuses the main effort more on the mid-back than on the chest and shoulders. The possibility of selecting the region of main load is very useful for a chest/back balanced exercise; it can also help to avoid too much muscular development of one of those regions if so desired. This is something a flywheel with a single pulling T-bar cannot provide. ELEVATING THE DEVICE [5] I wanted to increase the exercise load on the rower's legs by elevating the rear end of the Body Trac. Instead of using an elevating block or platform, which would add another item to store after a session, I decided to increase the length of the 'leg' of the rear foot so that the sliding-seat beam forms a 10° angle with the horizontal plane (see my figures). To do that I used two thin walled metal tubes : one, a container of aquarelle pencils of one of our children, with an outer diameter that almost fitted the inner diameter of the rear single tube leg of the machine; the other, a metallic flashlight with rear-end diameter a bit smaller than that of the previous tube, and with a flared out front-end diameter fitting perfectly the receiving plastic well of the rear foot (see figure with panel A). To withstand the rower's weight, these tubes were filled with quick-setting cement in two steps -- in the first one I filled the bigger tube (with a red color in the inset of panel B before it was spray-painted black) to 2/3 of its length; and in the second step I finished filling this tube and filled the smaller tube with cement, placing the latter inverted into the former. Then I sealed the narrow gap between the tubes with glue to achieve a moist curing of the cement to provide a higher compressive strength. The cement was left to cure for 3 weeks. I spray-painted black this extension and tightly inserted it into the machine's rear tube leg using turns of reinforced duct tape for shimming. The new leg maintained the 97° angle with the beam of the sliding seat (see panel B of the figure). To preserve stability, the bottom of the rear foot was shimmed along its rear edge to compensate by the 10° angle also formed there. [6] The cement-filled extension withstands my 181-lb weight without any issue so far. The machine stands on the floor on three points (two in the front, and one with a wider contact area in the rear). The *lateral* stability of this tripod is inherently reduced by its narrow and elongated shape, but its stability is strong as long as the center of gravity of the system is both relatively stable and low. By elevating the single rear foot, however, I changed that equilibrium, likely decreasing stability when the seat reaches its rear-most sliding position, as this changes the dynamic center of gravity. If you were to implement the change I made, avoid sudden, large side jerking movements at the end of the stroke that might tip you over, and make sure there are no objects in the vicinity of the rear of the device that could harm you in that case. SUPPORT [7] While the machine deserves it, another reason why I also give it 5 stars is the quality of the customer service of the company. The BodyTrac 35-1050 I received had scratches on several of its components, so I contacted Yesoul's customer service and emailed them pictures of the defects. They quickly replaced all the affected parts at no cost --including the entire center beam and rowing arms-- in less than 2 weeks. A good customer service is paramount for online purchases. __ UPDATE (2/2018) -- This rowing machine has been working well and without any problems after 3? years of systematic use on my part (40-60 min, 5 days/week), a more recent use on the part of my marathoner wife for back and legs workout, and what seems very occasional use by the oldest children. It is cleaned well after each session and, about once a month, I lubricate rolling or friction points of moving parts. It has provided us a superb service and fully deserves my original 5-star rating. UPDATE (7/2018) -- The molded sliding seat of this machine often feels uncomfortable after a long rowing session. At the imperative demand of family members claiming rowing ought not be proctodynic, I added to the seat a so-called coccyx pad, whose memory foam I had to trim and carve to a contour approaching that of a good scull seat. (From my experience as a sculler, the best seat has a smooth, front-to-back ridge at the middle, dividing the slightly concave halves of the seat, each of which has a tapered hollow of ~1/5 the total width to accommodate the seat bones [seat on your hands to locate yours], plus a straight front edge and a back edge having a butterfly's hindwings-like contour to provide tail-bone comfort -- It resembles a sleeping mask but with eyeholes.) Redesigning the current heart-shaped seat would avoid a not uncommon complaint of discomfort, and distinguish this rowing machine from Chinese near-copies (e.g., bit.ly/2uGCh0C) as well as American aftermarket-generic-copies (e.g., amzn.to/2GJaote). UPDATE (12/2019) -- The machine has now been in more or less continuous use over the last 5 years without any problems. With my children now using the machine while watching television in the family room, the addition of wheels on the front stabilizer to allow rolling the folded machine when tilted is sorely needed. UPDATE (10/2021) -- Almost 7 years since I bought it, and with a lot of use by all family members in 2020 and just by myself in 2021, the device keeps working well without issues. Unlike many of the things I have purchased from Yesoul, it deserves taking the time to write updates. My DIY 10° slide elevation described above also works well, and has made quite a difference in the long term. UPDATE (6/2022) -- Still with no issues and working well. A rare find. --

The handlers are not easy to manage as they should. Where you set your feet are too close and the seat slides to easily backwards and you have to be extra careful to avoid falling off and does not allow you to bend your knees properly. For the price I paid is OK.

I found this rower easy enough to set up, although the arms took a bit of figuring out. It's easy to use, with a smooth motion and feels comfortable when you're rowing. You have two options for arm motion - you can either circle out or simply push-pull directly in front of you. Very little noise when you're rowing so you can row and watch a show, if you're that way inclined. As others have pointed out, the piston gets VERY hot after 20-30 minutes. I had to buy a mat to put under the machine. The rower does fold up easily - it's a bit fiddly screwing and unscrewing the arm pins, and is not what I would call compact when folded. I am, however, enjoying using this rower. My one complaint with it (so far) is that it's relatively heavy to move around, There are no wheels on the base and no easy/obvious hand holds. As an over 60 yo woman, this may become an issue in the future.

I have to say this machine is very effective. I ached all over my upper body the day after my first workout. It's a very relaxing workout when you just watch a good movie with it. I think the full range of motion makes the work out more enjoyable and smooth. Highly, highly recommend it.

Pros: Assembly is easy and fast and I like the easy standup storage. It's well made and looks good. The adjustment of the hydraulic pump is easy. Slides quietly. Cons: I'm 5'6" and the major problem is I hit the electric counter with the handles as I like to lean in deeply for a stroke. Had to remove it. I didn't use it anyway as it was difficult to read the display and I have a Fitbit which works better.

OK this machine works full body but only if you take time to learn proper rowing methods. I found several videos showing workouts. I also found one that showed 3 most common mistakes. I was making all 3 without realizing it. I am now only working through technique and all of a sudden I feel muscle weakness all over including legs. I am on a setting of 1. I am just starting. Before doing proper method I felt little resistance or stress on leg muscles. It is all in the method. It is a great machine when used correctly! It was easy to assemble. Very sturdy. I am 5'4" 221 lbs. Legs fully extend. Stands against wall nicely. Takes little room.

I bought this machine after using numerous rowers at my gym (pre-COVID) that had very little resistance left. I have home gym now and have been looking for a rower for awhile. This machine was highly rated and had a feature I was looking for - true resistance! I get a really good workout in just 10 minutes! I highly recommend this one!

I bought this simple rowing machine two years ago when I moved to a smaller space and sold my treadmill. This rower has worked beautifully since then and was well worth the money spent! I like it even better than having a treadmill.

This was easy to assemble and I love how compact it is. Note: the hardware listed on page 5 is already attached to the machine parts and is NOT in a hardware bag. I made the mistake of thinking an entire bag was missing and customer service was very helpful. Once you realize that, it’s smooth sailing. Rowing.

I like this rower because it's so similar to rowing in the water; not bad for the price.

"Digital screen" came cracked upon arrival. Easy to assemble but kinda flimsy. Works well otherwise.

Rower was not assembled by me. Runs smoothly with great full motion arm movement. Price was exceptional. Very happy with purchase. Already bragging about the rower. The monitor is basic which is fine for me. The rower is great.

I liked the fact that it could be folded up and stood upright so it does not take up much space. the rowing arms have very good range of movement.

I love this rowing machine. It gets my heart rate up, strengthens my core, and saves me from pounding my knees and ankles. It’s easy to get going, but it’s a little tricky for this 65 year-old to get back on my feet after my workout. I like the digits timer/counter, too.

Surprisingly well constructed for a light weight and fairly inexpensive product. Easy to assemble and use and my wife can move it around and store it easily.

I love that it mimics being on the water better than the rowers I've used at the gym. Took me about 25 minutes to assemble. Doesn't take up a lot of space, even when the arms arn't collapsed.

The Rower is great!! But the monitor is not! It is totally cheap in construction, no on/off button, so it uses up the batteries quickly and just does not work! However, it is a great little stand for my cell phone! So, all is not lost.

I have the older version of this now this one too which is a little different but I like it. Does the job and the screen is better

Great range of motion. So smooth without any noise.

Edit: I found out why my time is off. The timer and other measurements are measured by the sensor below the rail when the seat passes over it. If you don't come forward far enough on the seat, it doesn't pass over the sensor and that time is not counted. I'm 6'2" and sometimes I don't come forward enough on the seat and so I lose time. I looked at moving the sensor but it seems too difficult so I'll continue to use my phone to track time. Original: I'm really glad I read reviews for the different rowing machines and saw how many "real" rowers liked this one because it's the closest to actual rowing on the water. I bought it for that and am quite happy except that I noticed the Elapsed Time it shows you on the display is incorrect. It's less time than you've actually rowed and it gets worse the longer you row. For example, I've had it show 3 minutes of rowing when I've actually rowed 3:30. So now I just do a stopwatch on my phone to keep track of the time. For the price I don't think you can beat this inexpensive rower and maybe the newer version actually knows how to keep time!

This has been a great machine. Have had it for a couple months and I use it 20 minutes every day with almost no complaints. This is my first time on a rowing machine and I couldn't be happier. Very nice for beginners for sure, and I would say it will hold up as I continue to use it heavily later on as well. I don't plan on being part of any Olympic row teams, but I think pros would enjoy this just as much. Very surprised to see complaints of the resistance on the rower. Myself being in "decent shape"; it offers a great full body workout, and I'm not near the highest setting yet. I can't imagine those complaining really know or use proper form on the machine. My only very small issue is that it doesn't track distance. Sure it's easy to do some math and estimate distance, but it's only an estimation. The only reason it gets 4 stars (4.5 in my eyes). VERY happy with this affordable and fun at home experience!!

This works great and is very quite. My legs are long, levi's size 34 inches leg, and It is just long enough. I do have to sit just a bit forward on the seat though. The instructions are minimal and it takes a bit of time to understand them. Love how it folds up and takes up little space. It gives a good work for most, if not all, of my body and is fun to use.

For the price ($160 at the time) this is a great rowing machine. It doesn't have any fancy bells and whistles but it does the job at giving you a good workout. The wide rowing motion is different but not in a bad way. It more closely mimics how you'd actually row on the water and it helps open up the shoulders with each stroke.

This is perfect for what I was looking for. It doesn't take much space, ut was easy to assemble and it's quiet.

This machine gives you a full body workout w/o breaking a sweat. At 71 , I get lower back muscle strengthening, with arm and leg work . Two 15 minute sessions per day seems to keep me feeling good to "go".

So first I want to get the bad out of the way - I have Prime and it was supposed to be here on Monday and didn’t show up until Friday - four days late. Anyhow, after I put it together, and you really need two people because when you are putting the monitor on the front the tiny screws and screw holes along with the little wire make it difficult to do yourself. I had my husband hold it in place while I did the little screws. After that, I adjusted the tension and off I went. It is very life like in the motion of rowing. I should know, I live on a lake and have a row boat! The other machines that have the pull cords do not offer the same body motion as actual rowing. This machine nails it on that. People in other reviews stated it was cheap but I found that everything was fine if you are not over the weight limit and use it as it is intended, Rowing is not intended to be a hurry up and get there sport - hence the name Yesoul. The other complaints that people had were the foot pedals and the straps. The foot pedals themselves I found are fine. The straps, if you leave on the lower slot choice does cut in to your ankle so that I don’t care for. I will be moving my straps to the top slots. For the money, this is a very nice rowing machine.

So I am 6'5ish my only issue is the ROM. I knew that going into the purchase was going to be a slight issue. Still able to get a workout in you just have to intentionally cross the sensor or else my natural stride doesn't trigger it.

Love this rowing machine. I didn’t want a huge investment on a piece of equipment I might not like/use. So far so good! Compact, quiet, comfortable, and easy to use. I use it 4-5 times/week and haven’t had any issues. If you’re on the fence, go for it!

I have been a couch potatoe for almost two years. So I needed to ease back into a workout regimine. Thankfully this does just that. I have it setup in my home office so that when I take a break I can turn on the TV and row to my hearts content. Setup was pretty quick, under 1/2 hr. It does take up a bit of room while rowing, because its a full motion as opposed to the pull motion. It's not hard on the joints at all and I'm never winded when done. It gives me a cumulative as well as an individual count (or rep) it tracks the time and calories, all of which can be reset except the cumlative. It's a great workout and a robust machine that doesn't slide on my wood floors!

This was a breeze to put together. I have good range of motion and resistance has room to go up I hate to admit that although I put this together in February of 2021 when I purchased it to put in my home gym that I put together during lockdown Unfortunately I saw no benefit because I wasn’t consistent enough to get results. I’m more of a weights person so I have made good use of the barbell, plates, and dumbbells I purchased since 2020. Fast forward to April 2022. I lost the weight that I put on during pandemic but still wasn’t where I wanted to be in terms of definition. I met an owner of a rowing studio and was offered a free class. I went in for a class and I loved it!! They incorporated the rower with floor work (dumbbells and body weight exercises) I couldn’t justify paying 160 a month for an unlimited membership. I loved the workout though. I went on YouTube and online researching rowing class testimonials but still I wasn’t going to get the membership. I ran across a rowing boot camp video on YouTube. It was 30 minutes. It was 20 minutes of intervals on the rower followed by 10 minutes of dumbbells. The rower in the video is a magnetic one the more expensive ones. This rower is a hydraulic rower however the range of motion I say is a plus because it works more of my arms core and back than the magnetic ones that only pull straight back. I am not able to track strokes per minute like the more pricey ones and I’m fine with that, So I decided to challenge myself at home in the morning for 21 days straight. I just kept up with the woman in the rowing boot camp video even though I couldn’t track strokes per minute I just matched her pace. I took a break for 1 day the. Finished 7 more days. 30 days was May 23rd. I wish like he!! That I took measurements and photos before. Because I see and feel a major difference. I am 46 years old I’m 5’4” and weigh 148 when I started I had just come off vacation so I was 151, I wasn’t trying to lose weight just lose body fat gain lean muscle and endurance. For 30 days I did no other workout other than 3 days a week climbing 17 floors up and down in the building I work in when I’m in the office(I had already been doing that) That’s the only cardio I get because I love weights. I did have waist measured at a health assessment my job held last week my waist was 27 so I’m thinking I lost an inch and a half. I noticed my arms are more defined my legs are defined including my inner thighs my trouble area. My lower back has some areas of definition that I don’t remember seeing since I was in my 20s. My clothes fit a bit looser as well. I’m going to finish this month out and incorporate it 2 or 3 times a week along with weights.. This rower changed the way that I look relatively quick Get this machine knock out a YouTube video and YOU WILL SEE RESULTS FAST

Over all it looks good. Again I bought it used to save money put I have to pay for the missing parts.

I wanted an at home row machine that offered full range of motion, and this is perfect! I did have a small issue with my feet sliding at first, but I tried different shoes and that seemed to fix that ( so I guess shoe problem, not machine). It’s quiet, and doesn’t take up too much space.

Husband enjoys using it and has been durable.
